  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow macaroni or penne work great)
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese (optional for topping)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add sauces: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine with pasta: Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well.
  5. Layer casserole: Pour mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top. Add mozzarella if using.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  7. Cool slightly before serving.
