Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked pasta elbow macaroni or penne work great
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese optional for topping
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook ground beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add sauces: Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Combine with pasta: Add cooked pasta to the skillet and mix well.
  • Layer casserole: Pour mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly on top. Add mozzarella if using.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  • Cool slightly before serving.
